My stay at the Doubletree By Hilton Queenstown offered beautiful views and friendly staff, but I found the hotel itself to be quite dated and lacking in maintenance. The room was comfortable and well-laid out, yet I was disappointed with several aspects that fell short of my expectations given the price point.

Rooms
6.0
The room I had was quite comfortable, with a nice sitting area and great shower pressure, but it felt a bit rundown. I noticed inconsistencies like two single beds pushed together that weren't even the same height, and the cleanliness left much to be desired, with dust everywhere (not the best first impression).
Service
6.0
Though the staff were friendly and helpful, I felt that the service could have been more attentive. For instance, the room service was quite slow, and I had to ask for extra blankets due to the cold in my room, which made me feel a bit neglected.
Location
7.0
The hotel is situated in a lovely spot right by the lake, providing beautiful views. However, it's quite far from the main town center, and getting there requires either a boat ride or a car, so I found that a bit inconvenient.
Dining
7.0
I enjoyed having breakfast at the nearby Hilton, which had a nice buffet spread. However, the dining options within the Doubletree could use more variety (it would have been nice to have a proper café on-site for my first coffee of the day).
Facilities
5.0
The hotel had several facilities including room service and laundry, but I found the overall feel dated and underwhelming for a hotel of this caliber. They also closed the main foyer bar, which felt stingy to me.

I had a mixed experience during my stay at Doubletree By Hilton Queenstown. The location is fantastic with amazing views of the lake, and I appreciated the warm welcome we received as 'Guests of the Day.' However, some aspects such as the inadequate communication regarding spa availability and the inconsistent breakfast quality left me wanting more.

Rooms
6.0
The room layout was great with stunning views, but it was smaller than expected. There were issues with the initial room assignment, but staff handled the situation well.
Service
7.0
Staff were eager to help and friendly, but some aspects felt lacking, especially with the timely communication around spa treatments and room service.
Location
8.0
The hotel is set in a quiet area with beautiful lake views, though a bit far from Queenstown city center, making parking challenging.
Dining
6.0
The breakfast offered a standard selection, but some food items were not hot and underwhelming. The staff were willing to accommodate dietary restrictions when informed.
Facilities
6.0
The available facilities, including access to the spa and parking, were decent, but some seemed to lack communication and timely service.

I recently stayed at the Doubletree By Hilton Queenstown and had a mix of experiences. The location, while beautiful across the lake, felt a bit far from the main center, and I definitely needed a car. The room had a nice view, and the kitchenette was well-equipped, but I faced several inconveniences that made the stay less enjoyable overall.

Rooms
6.0
The room was small but functional with a separate lounge area. It featured comfortable beds, but I had issues with the air conditioning that didn’t cool well, leading to some uncomfortable nights. The bathroom facilities could use some cleaning and maintenance, and the glass door didn't close properly, which was pretty awkward.
Service
5.0
I found the service to be lacking. My check-in experience wasn’t great, as the front desk staff seemed overwhelmed and didn’t provide clear information about the amenities or parking. Although the staff were friendly, they didn’t go out of their way to assist like I’ve experienced at other Hilton properties.
Location
7.0
The hotel's placement in Kelvin Heights gives it a stunning lake view, but it’s out of the way from Queenstown’s attractions. If you don’t have a car, you're in for a hassle since the bus routes weren’t explained well to me.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast was decent but limited to a buffet style with no cooked-to-order options, which was disappointing compared to my previous stays at Doubletree. And, I had to pay extra for cappuccinos, which felt odd. They did have a nice coffee spot at the Wakatipu Grill, though!
Facilities
5.0
Some standard facilities were available like room service and laundry, but I was bummed to miss out on using a pool since I didn't have access to the one at the Hilton across the street. Also, parking cost $16 a day, which was a surprise since I expected it to be free.

I had a great experience overall at Doubletree By Hilton Queenstown. The modern feel of the hotel coupled with super friendly staff made my stay enjoyable. The room was spacious and quiet, though there were minor hiccups with housekeeping and a few maintenance issues. Still, the stunning lake views made up for it, and I appreciated the convenient location for exploring nearby attractions.

Rooms
8.0
I found the rooms to be spacious, comfortable, and clean, although I did experience a minor leak in the bathroom. The kitchenette was handy, but I expected more attention to cleaning details.
Service
7.0
The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. However, there were times when housekeeping seemed slow to respond, which was a little disappointing given the hotel's reputation.
Location
8.0
The hotel has a lovely location across the lake from Queenstown. It's perfect if you want to enjoy the natural beauty, but it might be a bit far if you're looking to party in town every night.
Dining
9.0
I ordered room service and the Club Sandwich was one of the best I've ever had. I didn't try breakfast, but I wish I did, as it looked promising based on my meal.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel had great facilities like a small cinema room, and I could access the pool and gym at the Hilton next door, which was a nice bonus. However, I found the charge for WiFi a bit annoying.

I had a pleasant stay at Doubletree By Hilton Queenstown, enjoying the tranquil setting by the lake, though some aspects left room for improvement. The staff was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make my birthday special, which I appreciated. However, the housekeeping service was an issue, and the location felt a bit far from the center of town.

Rooms
8.0
I stayed in a lake view suite that was quite spacious with a kitchen and separate living space, although I had issues with housekeeping as they were always done around 4 or 5 PM. The rooms were generally comfortable, but they could use better cleaning.
Service
6.0
While the staff was friendly and made my birthday nice, I found the response time for requests lacking, especially when I tried to get assistance for housekeeping.
Location
7.0
The hotel is set against the lake, which is beautiful and tranquil, but it's quite far from the main center of Queenstown. It’s an easy drive to various attractions, but if you prefer being in the hustle and bustle, it might not be ideal.
Dining
8.0
Breakfast offered a good variety of hot and cold choices, but it was the same menu each day, which can get repetitive.
Facilities
7.0
I had access to great facilities across the road at the Hilton, including a gym and pool. However, I did face issues with the water taxi schedule, which limited my transport options.
